About Bamboo Borders
Forever Bamboo’s high-quality bamboo borders are an affordable and eco-friendly alternative to traditional wood building materials. Each 1-inch diameter pole is cut in 8-, 10-, and 12-inch lengths and assembled in both ascending and descending heights. This specially designed border structure is secured with sturdy galvanized steel wire that can be shaped into place.
Installation can be done quickly and doesn’t require heavy machinery. Easily shape bamboo borders around any structure for a long lasting design piece that will enhance your backyard instantly. The length of bamboo borders can also be shortened by cutting the wire and removing the desired number of poles. Bend the wire back into place once the desired length is attained.
The flexible structure of bamboo borders can be conveniently placed around walkways, garden paths, trees, and even potted plants. We recommend using 1-foot sections of rebar that are 3/8" or 1/2" in diameter as a support for borders. You can also use wooden stakes as a base support and connect wire or zip ties to each border.
Eco-Friendly
Bamboo is an eco-friendly alternative to traditional wood building materials. Unlike traditional wood, bamboo doesn’t have to be killed in order to be harvested. Wood can take years before it grows back to a mature size. Each pole is cut at the root base allowing for regrowth over time. Because the roots are left in place, bamboo helps with soil erosion prevention. Bamboo is the fastest growing plant in the world and can grow up to 24 inches in just one day. It is 100% renewable and is grown organically; free of pesticides and chemical fertilizers.
With the increase in environmental awareness, it’s good to know that bamboo is by far the most eco-friendly alternative to traditional wood. Bamboo even plays a crucial role in helping to stop the global warming epidemic. Plants everywhere purify the atmosphere, but bamboo in particular has a much higher environmental impact. Compared to other plants and trees, bamboo absorbs twice as much carbon dioxide and releases 35% more oxygen. At Forever Bamboo, we are constantly traveling the world to find the best quality bamboo and ensuring that working conditions are comparable to American standards.
How to Care for Bamboo Borders
If you’re planning on installing your bamboo borders outdoors, we recommend coating the poles with a water-based sealant or varnish. We recommend staining your bamboo using Amteco Total Wood Protectant (TWP), also available on our website. The sealant will prevent weathering and keep the original color looking like new.
Your Source for Quality Edging
You could find edging at most big-box home and garden stores. In all likelihood, your local retailer has sourced their inventory from us. However, there's no guarantee you're getting a high-quality, sustainably harvested product that's free from dyes and other chemical treatments. Avoid uncertainty — and cut out the middleman — by shopping at Forever Bamboo. We are the country's leading supplier of bamboo fencing, edging and related products, as well as natural thatch roofing and tropical decor.
